Doghouse Gallery presents The Ceramic World of Peter Meanley

We are so pleased to be able to show some of the extraordinary work of ceramicist Peter Meanley. The work is hot of the boat after being exhibited in Germany so this is a great opportunity to see this collection and buy a piece, should the need take you! Peter is Northern Irelands foremost ceramic vessel maker, working with clay for over 45 years and for the last 25 concentrating on the design and creation of pouring salt glazed vessels.

We are OPEN!

Pop in and see us, all the usual mix of quality craft available and we have our exhibition on for another week or so – catch it while you can. New items are arriving all the time so call in Thursday, Friday or Saturdays 10am – 5pm.

The ball is rolling!

The wrecking ball that is! Exciting stuff as our builders Ricky and Colin get stuck in. First job is to get rid of the stuff we don’t want and that includes an internal wall made of glass bricks and all the ground flooring. Oh well, you can’t make an omelette…

Get on the floor

There goes the raised part of the floor, it’s all going to be one level once we’re done. The boys are pouring the new one now.

Work, work, work!

The ceiling is going up. Better than coming down.

Ricky and the boys and working away. The ceiling is being boarded at the minute, and the heat is on for the first time. Oh the luxury.

Plastered! We’re amazed at the workmanship of Davy’s plastering. It seems a shame to paint over it. You should feel these walls, ooh lovely and smooth. That is applied art if you ask me! getting there

Colour choice!

Our painters are working away and thanks to their stirling work the place is starting to look like a gallery. The frontage is being painted at the minute, bit of a change from the previous black. Trying to imagine what type of signage we should go for now.

The new gallery side of things!

We are very pleased to be able to offer this new space for exhibitions. We are currently showing ‘Heads – current works’ featuring the work of Helen Hanse, Esther Brimage and Kevin McAleenan. This show will run for the next few weeks at least. Who knows what is coming next!
