We are very pleased to show some new work by Barbara Allen. Barbara is a respected local artist perhaps best known for her fabulous watercolours with architectural subjects. Her work is collected locally and internationally and can be found in the collections of the White House, Washington D.C., Bass Ireland, Londonderry Port and Harbour Commissioners, Royal Norwegian Embassy, London, Tele (Norwegian Telecom), Ulster Television, and Armagh, Down, Fermanagh and Monaghan County Museums.

It’s a delight to show these acrylic paintings of dogs, iconic, minimal and stylish, almost pop art! Why now pop in and see the work for yourself.

We want to thank all our clients for coming, it took an extra effort to leave the house last night. We appreciate you all getting here and hope you got back home safely. Hopefully it was a good night all round, it was difficult to get a good look at all the pieces with the crowds, but reason enough to come back and have a second look. That’s us opened now for the ‘Summer’. Thursday, Friday and Saturdays 10am – 5pm.

Esther is a print maker from Belfast, her work is very special, distinctive and collectable. She has exhibited with the Royal Ulster Academy.

Helen, a native of Holywood, has been working in the art industry for quite a while – however her move into stone carving is relatively new. The pieces are remarkable, possessing a softness than belies their medium. She has exhibited with the Royal Ulster Academy.

Kevin is a rising star in the fine art scene. Hailing from Banbridge, his style is unique, his colour choice impeccable. He has exhibited with the Royal Ulster Academy.

We are excited to be able to share this collection of new work with you.

The exhibition opens on 1st April and runs Thursday, Friday and Saturdays until 28th August.

Well it’s now February! Time is flying along. We’re happy to report our building works are making good progress. Tony the spark now installing the lights and putting finishing touched to his 2nd fix. Davy has been plastering away and now has covered nearly all the bits he needs to get done. Seems a shame to paint over his beautiful work. The new phone line is in – new number to try and remember!

Things are really starting to move at a pace. Our floor arrives tomorrow, hopefully fitting in the next couple of days. Then we ready for the painters! better pick some colours…

Well it’s the new year and a new website for us. This is the first entry into out blog!

It’s an exciting and slightly scarey time for the doghouse gallery. We have taken the plunge and are moving to a fantastic new building not far from our old one. After months of work and a complete refit we will have the building ready for you to come and visit. It is almost twice the size of the last place, so more room to display even more our usual mix of high quality craft and applied art. We hope you will like it!

Keep watching the progress and we’ll let you know when we expect to open.
