Avril lives and works in Brighton. She juggles family life with tutoring Wood, Metal, Ceramics & Plastics at Brighton Art College and working in her own studio.
She studied at Brighton Poly gaining a BA Hons followed by an MA at Cardiff specialising in Metalwork.
Prestigious commissions for the railings at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and town centre Spandrels in Banbury are two of her most recent public art works.
In October 2005 she was the recipient of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths Medal, in London. She is the first woman to be awarded level of recognition in the organisations 700 year history!
